Welcome to 40s Singleness-Fitness in Your 40s! We all know that keeping fit and trim gets a little more complicated in our 40s. This blog is an effort to do two things.

First, it is a means of accountability for me. I am hoping keeping a diary of my daily workouts will make me more accountable to someone, somewhere...

Secondly, I hope to provide information for women over 40 who are trying to keep fit. Please feel free to let me know if there's information you would like me to include or to address.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy your visit!

Day 1

Today's exercises:

20 crunches using 5 lb. medicine ball

10 sitting twists using 5 lb. medicine ball

Not a great start! I had every intention of doing some ab work and just never got to it.

Nutrition:

Having a little trouble with nutrition since I've been on winter break. Hopefully, my habits will improve some when I return to work on Monday.

Flat Belly Diet Review

According to the Flat Belly Diet, a flat belly is all about food & attitude-not a single crunch is required. The diet features 5 flat belly foods which you consume each day. These are nuts & seeds, oils, avocados, olives, and chocolate. Apparently they are packed with monounsaturated fatty acids (also known as MUFAs, pronounced MOO-fahs) which are the good ones. According to Prevention magazine,

Eating one serving of any of these at every meal will help reduce your accumulation of dangerous belly fat; control your calorie intake and you'll lose inches and pounds, too--especially around your waistline.

I don't know about you but at least it sounds doable. If I can have chocolate and olives with every meal, I think I may give it a shot. I'll keep you updated on my progress. In the meantime, check out these Flat Belly Diet recipes.
